about

Colonizers have always used nature to their benefit — exploiting natural surroundings without regard for nurturing and protecting them. If we don’t listen and learn from the native communities who have been living symbiotically with their surroundings and acting as stewards to the natural world for centuries we will not only destroy our world, but ourselves in the process. We need to acknowledge the fact that we are a part of nature, not separate from it.

This song is about our relationship in the capitalistic, modern Western world with nature, urging fellow humans to do something to protect our world before it’s too late.

All proceeds donated directly to the Marsha P. Johnson Institute. I also encourage you to donate directly to them, or to other BIPOC Trans/Queer led organizations — wonderful humans are out there working tirelessly towards a more equitable and inclusive future, support them.

lyrics

"Mist hanging low in the trees
As waves crash below
Compiling knowledge
That we’ll never know

So many centuries old
Wind whispers, they tower
Galloping through the cold
Emboldened by their power

For all my life
For all my life
For all my life
For all my

Ancestral stories
Carved in the hide of a tree
Unlocking secrets
In the petals of a flower

For all our life
For all our life
For all our life
For all our

Magenta colors the sky
In a room filled with smoke
Fruitlessly seeking
Earth shattered when they spoke

They spend their lifetime
Searching for answers unknown
Destructive progress
It was too late when they awoke

For all our lives
For all our lives
For all our lives
For all our"
